What amount does the cab meter start from ?
The cab meter starts from the moment the taxi driver is "hired" for your ride, from that moment it is turned on, starting from the base rate provided and also during the journey from the taxi stand or taxi driver's location to the "pick-up" address the amount goes up progressively.
This occurs because even during the route the taxi driver takes to your direction he is working, and also he cannot pick up other passengers who require it, perhaps on foot.
In addition, by accepting your ride, the taxi driver will lose priority to the parking space over his colleagues.

During public transport strikes is it possible to take a cab ?
Although cabs represent a public service operated by the municipality and therefore subject to regulation, they are not involved in public transport blocks such as trains, planes or buses/trams, this is because each taxi driver is a freelancer operating in the municipality through regular licensing.
Therefore, if he sticks to his scheduled shifts, he can safely work even during the days when means of transportation are on strike; in fact, many times he is a lifeline for the many people who find themselves in trouble precisely because of strikes by other means.

Inside cabs, it is necessary to abide by the Code of Conduct, Resolution No. 507 of April 2, 1999, which in Article 7 (obligations of the traveler) paragraph 2, provides precisely for a ban on smoking.
